We had a great trip using the campervan and found it very practical and well set up with everything that you need. The mattresses were comfortable and so much better than camping in a tent especially on rainy days. It gives you flexibility on a road trip and perfect for four people. Would definitely recommend it !!

The camper van was super functional and cozy! We appreciated all the amenities. When we ran into a snag, we really appreciated the quick communication, friendliness, and resolution.
This was the first trip to Alaska for myself and my kids ages 10 and 12. Airport pickup was easy and the rundown on how everything works was easy to follow. We spent 10 days traveling and exploring, and with some helpful tips (from Pat) on places not to be missed, the kids and I had an absolute blast. Everything worked in the RV flawlessly, we had plenty of space, windows for everyone to see all the beautiful mountains, lots of storage, fridge, stove and microwave made cooking while we traveled a breeze. Return of the RV was simple and the ride back to the airport was a nice touch so we didn’t have to worry about transport. Communication before, during, and after our trip was excellent, they were very accommodating and quick to respond. A lesser caliber company and vehicle couldve made this trip pretty rough, I’ve heard stories about things breaking down on folks and them being stranded, but I had zero worries of that with the folks from Alaska Family Motorhomes. I highly recommend them for making sure your trip to Alaska is everything you hope it will be.
We had a great experience! Overall the RV was great. We had a small issue with the refrigerator but Tom and his team were very responsive. This particular RV is pretty older, isn’t fancy but it had everything we needed and ran great. The entire team was excellent!

Fantastic trip. RV was great. Functional, easy to use, clean and as described. Alaska is really RV friendly and the trip was fantastic. So many places to visit, see, enjoy and boon dock as well as empty tanks and reload supplies and water!

We have rented from Alaska Family Motorhomes 4 times now. We have been pleased with them each time. Tom is flexible on picking us up at the airport as well as when we show up on turn in day. We had a problem with the door latch mid way through our trip and had to have it replaced. We were concerned about how that would all play out. We need not have worried. Upon hearing what happened and getting the receipt, Tom repaid us the cost of the replacement latch. We will definitely rent from him again.

I have nothing but words of thanks to this company, its owner Tom did an outstanding job never seen before in my more than 20 years traveling around the world, I know I should be already an experienced traveler and plan everything but no, i like to travel and do what I have to do on the go and not planning anything. Anyways after arriving to anchorage we found that there was a very large convention and everything was fully booked, not even Airbnb, booking or whatever app was available could find us anything to stay, not even a rental car. So we contact Tom the owner of www.alaskafamilymotorhomes.net through Oudoorsy and solved everything right away, he had motorhomes available but we rented a Subaru with a rooftop tent and fully equiped, camping stove, pots, cutlery etc. I like adventure and I have to say, this was awesome. After 7 days around Alaska we were back in Anchorage to return the Subaru and we were short of time to take our plane, so Tom told me to leave the car like that, no need to clean at no extra charge, otherwise we could miss the flight, he was more concerned than us about that. So my rating is the maximum I can give to www.alaskafamilymotorhomes.net Thanks Tom !!!!
When I was looking to book our trip to Alaska and pricing RV’s Alaska Family Motorhomes was less expensive. After looking into their rentals I saw they were older vehicles and was concerned. After looking at the website and Rv’s with my husband, he said ” There’s nothing wrong with an older vehicle as long as it’s still running.” ** big chuckle ** He is quite a bit older than I am. **wink, wink** Anyway, we did rent from Tom and it was a great experience. We booked the RV from a Sunday to Sunday, but our flight came in Saturday night. There was NO problem . He had our RV ready and we took to the road on Saturday evening. We had to fly out on Sunday, leaving for the Airport by 4 am. Tom made a space available on his lot for us to stay that last Saturday night. The RV had what we needed and was clean. WE were instructed on how most everything worked and how to use it. Alaska Family Motorhomes worked great for us.

Alaska Family Motorhomes (AFM) is the best. we got great service on our trip to Alaska. Even though we never rented a motorhome before, Tom and Gus were able to explain how everything worked. When we weren’t sure about something, they answered our questions very quickly via text.
We rent from AFM every summer. this year we rented two motorhomes and had a great time. and had extended family close (but not too close) by.
Traveling Alaska by motorhome was very special for us. Even though we had never rented a motorhome before, it worked out great. We got to see moose (scratched off my wife’s bucket list), and my son and grandson fished for lots of salmon. We had a great time and will rent from AFM when we return.
We live in Fairbanks, Alaska and wanted to travel to the Kenai peninsula in style. We called AFM last minute and booked two different units about a month apart. We got a great deal and had a lot of fun. We will use them again next year.
For the last six years, we have rented a motorhome from AFM. Tom and his team have been great. We travel to Seward and compete in the Mt Marathon race every year. It is an excellent time to visit Alaska.
We are six guys traveling from Montreal. Tom arranged to pick us up from the Anchorage Hostel and explained how everything worked. We then traveled to Denali, Fairbanks and all over the state. Even though we had never rented before, it was a great time. Everything worked great.
We made reservations in February through email correspondence with Tom. We received an excellent rate for a small motorhome starting the end of August. Even though we had an unforeseen fuel pump issue, Tom was able to get a replacement motorhome to us the same day. We continued the rest of our trip without incident and saw bear, moose, eagles, sheep and many other creatures. It was an excellent trip and I highly recommend AFM.
Renting an RV gave us the independence in traveling and changing plans at will and go everywhere we wanted to go. We liked that very much, and it felt more freedom than being locked into a lengthy cruise. Less expensive too. Overall, very RELIABLE transportation. RECOMMENDED!
